During our presentation at Cloud Expo on Azure, several people asked about being able to execute non .NET code on Azure. While it is still not possible to leverage the Compute platform to execute non-Microsoft languages and environment, Microsoft has taken a few interesting steps in enabling interoperability. Some of these include Azure fabric executing under Full trust and most recently the announcement of PHP SDK. Yes, this is still client library, but nevertheless an important step given the support Google offers.
